North African Baklawa With Almond Sweet

Crispy layers of filo dough filled with ground almonds and orange blossom water, dipped in honey syrup.

The filling of ground almonds is mixed with sugar and cinnamon, layered between thin sheets of filo brushed with melted butter, and baked crisp golden before the hot cake is dipped in a cool honey syrup that penetrates deep into the layers. The cake is traditionally cut into diamonds or triangles
